We automate existing skimmer channels for stable processes and optimal skimming
In wastewater treatment plants, skimmer channels are used to remove floating substances such as fats and debris from the water surface. For reliable operation, the channel must be precisely adjusted to the current water level. In practice, this adjustment is often performed manually – resulting in fluctuating quality and unnecessary water loss.
Our solution addresses this directly: existing skimmer channels are selectively retrofitted and automated. A sensor continuously detects the water level, while an actuator automatically adjusts the channel to the optimal height.
The existing infrastructure remains unchanged – no complex modifications or replacement of the skimmer channel are required. Through continuous adjustment, skimming operates permanently within the optimal range.
This results in consistently high cleaning performance, more efficient removal of floating substances and a noticeable reduction in water consumption. At the same time, manual adjustment is eliminated, and the operational reliability of the plant is increased.
